Ancient Eight Week 7

I don’t believe any column that I have penned in the eight years writing about Ivy League football has attracted as many letters and e-mails as Mr. Dollarz’ visit has generated.  All the correspondence asks how Mr. Dollarz’ visit to our estate has been going.  I am here to proclaim, Mr. Johnny Dollarz is a man of mystery.  Much to my surprise, I have not seen him since we met last week.  He did not show up for our tennis match last Friday.  I spent an hour practicing my backhand while our gardener Sylvester fed balls into the ball machine before giving up the wait.  Sylvester took me over to the tent that is protecting our grass court while it is being reseeded.  He showed me how several cigarette butts had been ground into the tender grass seedlings near the baseline.  I suspect Mr. Dollarz, although we do not have eyewitness proof.   Sylvester also relayed to me he has fished several liquor bottles out of the hot tub next to the swimming pool and he has picked up nearly a dozen beer cans at the driving range.   I hope to see Mr. Dollarz today or tomorrow to discuss his behavior while visiting here on the estate grounds.

Our contest last week ended in a draw with each of us having 2 – 2 records.  Mr. Dollarz’ pick of Dartmouth is nothing short of astounding.  While I may disagree with his behavior at the compound, that pick alone has earned my respect.  This week we have another all Ivy slate of games.  Robert once again picked up Mr. Dollarz’ predictions, which were taped to the back door of the guesthouse.  His are listed below mine.
