Bow down to your master

I, for one, welcome our new Twitter overlords.  I honestly can’t remember how we ever made it through life before Twitter.  I really enjoy waking up each morning and reading about what my friends had for breakfast, or browsing through their 20-word thoughts on exciting topics such as the weather, and the traffic woes of a town I’ve never visited.

I’ll tell you another thing, nothing enriches the sports viewing experience quite like the tweet.  How did we ever enjoy sports without the flimsy gossip that only a player’s scrub little brother could possibly provide?  How the hell did we ever know what was going on?  We waited…until the next DAY.  To read ENTIRE ARTICLES written by…..JOURNALISTS?  Man, lolz, we used to be SO STUPID!

Twitter has also revolutionized the ut-tailgaters.com website and the entire tailgating experience as we know it.  All 8 of you following ut-tailgaters.com on twitter must surely love being able to read such fascinating updates as “We need ice.”, “Come on, some1 pls bring ice!”, and “Srsly, bring ice, it’s f-ing hot out here – warm beer sux0rz!

Okay, so I apologize that our tweets are not very value-add or interesting.  They’re less tweets, and more toots.

Hmmm.  (tap-tap-tap) Is this thing on?

I’m trying real hard to embrace progress, but admittedly, I do occasionally fall victim to “good old days syndrome”.  I admit, it makes me quite sad that the paragraph has become a dying art form.  As you can probably tell from my typically wordy blogs, I like the paragraph.  A lot.  Some might say too much.  The paragraph is good, and it is strong.  But, alas, we cannot stop this inevitable freight train of progress, so this week’s Around the Big 12 embraces the twitter-style, exactly 140 characters per contest (not including teams, spread, and predicted score, of course).

Season: 32-11 (17-16-1 vs Spread)

Colorado (+17) at West Virginia, THURSDAY, 6:45pm [ESPN]Mountaineers don’t lose on Thursdays in land of flying whiskey bottles. CU sucks so WV fans only celebrate by burning love seats, not couches.

MOUNTAINEERS – 30  Buffs – 17

Iowa State (-2.5) vs Kansas State, Arrowhead Stadium (KC), 2:00pm [FCS] – Cyclones & Wildcats play neutral site game. Both sets of fans have to travel to see this awful suckfest.  Some1 has a cruel sense of humor!  ISU run game FTW.

CYCLONES – 23  Wildcats – 21

Oklahoma (+7) at Miami, 2:30pm [ABC] – Da U v OU in a nat’l TV showdown. What is this, ‘88? Lol Guess not..no Switzer, no JJ, no camo, no coke, no Boz, no roids, no AK47s. No fun.

SOONERS – 16  Canes – 14

New Mexico at Texas Tech (-36), 2:30pm [FSN] – Tech lost to UH, cried via tweets. Leach:U tweet, U go. Pirate ship takin on H20. UNM coaches r scrappin. Callin da cops=not gangsta at all.

RED RAIDERS – 42  Lobos – 9

Kent State at Baylor – RG3 TornACL = Baylor implosion. Kent State hasn’t been this depressed since ‘70. If u watch this game, ur a better man than I. Shamwow game!

BEARS – 28  Golden Flashes – 23

Arkansas vs Texas A&M, (+1.5), Death Star (Arlington), 6:30pm [ESPN] – Aggie stagefright v 1st real opponent. After game, Aggie fans need drink. More important, Death Star needs power wash and disinfectant. Lulz

RAZORBACKS – 33  Aggies – 24

Boy, wasn’t that fun?  …………Sigh.

As this week’s entry comes to a close, I think we can all agree that I deserve a giant fail whale for this “effort”.  Hey, it’s a bye week for the Horns, so it’s a bye week for this blog, too.  So suck it.  When Big 12 conference play kicks off in earnest next weekend, Around the Big 12 will be back in all its wordy paragraphed glory.

If A&M’s DBs can cover and if A&M can get pressure, they win. If not, they lose and it could be bad.

I sure hope Johnny Dollarz doesn’t mail it in as well.
